Batch.co.za

Thanks to House and Leisure’s April issue, I discovered a fantastic web based store, Batch.co.za. Fanie van Zyl and Kimlyn Moore initiated Batch.co.za to create opportunities for young designers to showcase their products, promote themselves and connect with clients and media. I contacted Fanie a while back with some of my products, needless to say, I’m thrilled that my Panorama Sideboard and Bow Coffee table have made it onto their website. They are a great team and Batch.co.za is a phenomenal concept, take a look at all the great products of other designers here. Of course, the fabulous pictures are thanks to Roy Esterhuysen from Firsthouse Photography.

iKhaya

I’m so happy to share with you this absolute treasure of a store that Rhenda Allan owns, iKhaya. This little store is tucked in snuggly next to Corner Cafe in Glenwood. Rhenda’s first store was opened in Durban on Davenport Road (now Helen Joseph Road) and since then she has moved to the corner of Brand and Cromwell Road in Glenwood. Everytime I pop in there, which is on a fairly regular basis, there is always something new and exciting in store. iKhaya has a range of decor accessories, unique furniture, lighting, artwork and is well known for their gorgeous and inexpensive framing. They recently attended the Design Indaba in Cape Town in February this year and sure made an impression! Vicki Sleet from iwantthat captured some of their stand pics.
So next time you are in Glenwood, Durban, be sure to pop into iKhaya. Or see what exciting new items they have in store and what they have been up to on their blog , here.
