A True Bush Safari

One of my favourite and inspirational South African design teams is the well known Cecile and Boyds. They have been the ones responsible for the magnificent decor concepts of all 10 Singita Lodges. Singita Game Reserves have recently launched the new “mobile tented camp” in Singita Explore Camp, Grumeti Reserves, Tanzania. And of course, the finished product is breathtakingly remarkable. The source of inspiration for this unique project was derived from the Land Rover – as they say ” it’s practical and hardy, a workhorse – and they drew on the materials in the car, such as leather, wood, steel and rubber”.

Grahamstown Architecture

Grahamstown, in the Eastern Cape, is a city with some of the most exquisite examples of Victorian and early Edwardian Architecture. We visited for the Grahamstown National Arts Festival last weekend. It was absolutely freezing but well worth the numb hands and toes! Below are a couple shots taken in Grahamstown, and I’ll be posting some of the amazing things I found at the festival soon.

Have a great Wednesday all!

Umngazi River Bungalows

Rick and I were lucky enough to spend the past weekend at the gorgeous Umngazi River Bungalows, outside Port St Johns in the Transkei (Eastern Cape). What a weekend it was! I couldn’t help but share some lovely pics with you all. The lodge itself is like a hidden treasure amidst the truly South African rural wild.

Have a look at Umngazi River Bungalows here for more info.

Catch up soon!
