Decorex Durban 2013 Volvo Designer Pod – Photoshoot

As promised, here are some of the pictures that Roy Esterhuysen from Firsthouse Photography took of the Volvo Designer Pod stand at the Decorex Durban show.

It was a great show and Lee-Anne and I had a fab time meeting new people and sipping the lovely bubbly from the Unwined Bar opposite the stand.

Happy Friday everyone – hope you all have a great weekend!

Inspired by Volvo

Late last week we received an email asking if we would like to test-drive the latest models of Volvo chosen for Decorex Durban 2013, to inspire us designers to creatively depict the brand “#madeforyou” in our interior space. How could I say no!

So on Friday, a bright blue Volvo XC60 was delivered for the weekend. Yipee!

I have to say, the brand is everything that they aspire to proclaim – “Volvo isn’t about making cars; it’s about making life better for drivers and passengers.”

They’re not just a “good to look at” and drive car, “every new Volvo that is made is 85% recyclable and 95% recoverable, and made in carbon-neutral production plants that use clean renewable energy. In addition, their GreenForBlue project offsets emissions by planting an appropriate number of trees per car.”

So with all this in mind, we decided to see what this sensationally stylish car was capable of and took a drive up the North Coast, exploring all the seaside towns.

It was a delightful day, the weather was great, the company fantastic and the drive first class!
